Hiraya Collective

Hiraya is a collective that aims to ​create an alternative and accessible ​learning space for the blind and ​visually impaired (VI) community in ​the Philippines.

They host multi-sensory workshops ​and programs on various creative ​expressions such as culinary, dance, ​theater, pottery, gardening and ​robotics.

The Logo

HIRAYA

(n). Tagalog: imagination, vision, hope

The logo design is inspired by the origin of the word “Hiraya”, an ancient ​Filipino word that means “imagination” or “the fruit of one's hopes and ​dreams.” With this idea, I decided to use “Baybayin” (Philippine Script) as ​the main design element because they both embody the Philippine ​history and culture.

By combining the three Baybayin symbols that spells “Hiraya”, a unified ​icon (ray) is formed. Each ray would represent one category of Hiraya’s ​workshops.

Fusing them together with their interlocking legs form a subtle camera ​imagery that represents one’s perspective or vision.

Ultimately, it forms a sun that represents life and energy, manifesting ​Hiraya’s mission of re-imagining learning spaces that embrace curiosity, ​play, innovation, and creative life.

Stardust is the Metaverse for All Things ​Entertainment. A virtual world made using ​blockchain technology for both business ​and users. From music to films to games ​to art, Stardust showcases the best of ​entertainment content.

For the Stardust branding, I was tasked to ​retain certain elements and improve the ​existing logo design, making it simpler and ​remarkable.

For the colors, I changed them to a more ​vibrant, colors to neon colors - which is the ​colors associated to metaverses.

The typeface for the main logo is Orbitron, a ​technology styled font that looks similar to ​the original but is free for commercial use. ​And also Monserrat, a classy, corporate ​looking font that works with both online and ​print purposes.

A subsidiary of Singapore’s Silver Media, ​HIP Studios is a Singapore, Sydney and ​Cebu, Philippines-based IP development ​and management company. Philippines ​and Hong Kong-based 8Letters has a ​catalog of more than 500 titles.

I was tasked to create the logo and visual ​identity for HIP. I incorporated a ​fingerprint that symbolizes ownership and ​originality which is an integral part of any ​intellectual property. The different colors ​and lines represent the various fields of ​entertainment.

In 2D animation, a layout refers ​to the overall composition and ​arrangement of elements ​within a scene, including the ​placement of characters, ​props, and backgrounds.
